when Paramount's LaserSpectacular was presented for the first time in a small theater in
San Antonio, Texas. At that time producer Steve
Monistere was staging Jazz and Blues concerts
at the seven hundred
seat Woodlawn Theater. A local laserist, Tim Walsh approached Steve with
the idea of staging a laser show. Steve had never seen a laser show performance but reluctantly agreed give Walsh's idea a try.
Both shows sold out and the rest, as they say, is history! Walsh
produced the show for a few months but grew tired of the touring schedule.
Steve then began purchasing laser equipment and producing
the show himself. From that time on, the show gathered steam as it rolled across the
US playing
to packed houses.
In 1987 Marc Solis came on board and began helping Steve promote half of the eighty plus
dates each year. By 1990, Solis had taken over
the primary day to day business of promoting the show.
With the advent of computers and digital technology the show has
improved greatly over the years. Today, Paramount's LaserSpectacular is
considered
the undisputed king of all laser shows!
Considered the world's longest touring laser show, Paramount offers
the latest in state of the art technology. The success of the show can be
attributed to many factors: Quality of production, rock radio support, and the publics ever growing fascination with technology.
Paramount is very proud of the amazing track record of the
LaserSpectacular! We have posted sellouts in many markets including Houston, Chicago, Baltimore, Las Vegas, Detroit
and many others; Moreover, it isn't uncommon for the show to go beyond single show status. In Los Angeles the
LaserSpectacular played three shows at the Pantages Theater for a total audience of 6,500 people! Ft. Lauderdale went to
two sellouts for 8,000 people and in Atlanta the show played
to two sellout shows for a total of 9,000 people at the Fabulous Fox Theater!!!!
Today, the show continues to roll. Each year we update the show with
technical and creative changes that keep our audience coming back for more.
After
15 years of touring, Paramount's LaserSpectacular has become a cult classic in rock & roll, Multimedia entertainment!
